PRESS RELEASE -- In August 2009, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the alleged scamming of individuals in Wicomico County for money. Investigation revealed that William Cleatus Stier would approach an unwitting subject and prey on their good nature. Stier would give a sad story about a vehicle being broken down or family members being stranded and would ask for money to alleviate the situation. Upon receiving the money that was given to him to help him out, Stier allegedly purchased drugs with it.

On 8 September 2009 a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Stier, charging him with committing theft and conducting a theft scheme. Also, on 27 August 2009, a bench warrant was issued for Stier for failing to appear in a Motor vehicle theft case. The pre-set bond on the bench warrant is $25,000.00

Authorities are looking for two suspects wanted for shooting and killing a 49-year-old man during an attempted robbery in Salisbury late Monday night.

The two suspects are described as two black males with thin builds, approximately 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing and hoodies that covered their faces. Both suspects were in possession of handguns.

Salisbury police say that at around 11:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired and a person down at the Shell Station located at 2513 N. Salisbury Blvd. Upon arrival officers found the victim lying in the doorway of the business.

He is African American, but a light "brown" vs. black skin color. He has a large nose but not wide spread.

His eyes are very round with dilated pupils and lots of white space.

Shore Stop - Armed Robbery - June 29, 2009

Salisbury police are looking for two suspects who robbed the Mt. Hermon Road Shore Stop convenience store on Monday night.

Police say the two suspects, who were both armed with guns, approached the store clerk and demanded money. The two men then fled with the cash. There were no reported injuries.

Both suspects are described as black males and in their late teens to early 20s. One of the suspects was wearing blue jeans, a winter coat, a camouflage bandanna and black Nike brand tennis shoes with a white Nike symbol.

The other suspect was wearing blue jeans with a white design on the rear pocket area, a dark shirt, tan Timberland boots, a black cap and a white T-shirt around his face.
